Are you considering an ASD or ADHD assessment for your child or teenager?

You're not alone if:
You need help understanding your child/teenager NOW; not in months or years
You have been recommended referral to the NHS Right to Choose (RTC) Pathway; you thought that this would be a fast track NHS solution to help your child/teenager
You are still waiting; still not knowing how long it will take for your child/teenager to be seen
You are concerned; you have heard RTC are stopping new referrals & pausing the referrals on their waiting list, creating uncertainty and delay in assessments for children
You are now left thinking that your only option is to pay privately for your child/teenager's assessment, but:
- You don't want to pay extortionate private assessment fees
- You are worried a private diagnosis won't be accepted by the NHS or School
- You are worried about spending money; only to risk no diagnosis given; leading you back to square one and even more confused and frustrated
- You aren't confident in knowing what assessment your child/teenager actually needs

A note from
Dr Kate Francis
“Bene Esse's service isn't about jumping to an assessment.”
As parents, it's natural to panic when your child is struggling, and to feel like you need to get in line for an assessment immediately, whichever route is fastest.
I understand why so many families are turning to Right to Choose right now. But I also see how many are left waiting regardless.
That's why we start by understanding your child properly, the whole picture — not just a checklist — so that whatever happens next, it's the right step for them.

Common questions
Is this the same as an NHS Right to Choose assessment?+
No. Right to Choose is an NHS-funded pathway delivered through NHS-contracted providers. Bene Esse is an independent, privately funded service — a faster alternative for families who don't want to wait, not a replacement for your NHS or Right to Choose referral, which you're welcome to stay on the list for.
Will a private diagnosis be accepted by the NHS or School?+
At Bene Esse our clinicians work both within the NHS and Private sector, and we link with the NHS, Schools and Community services. Where appropriate, we can help you use our assessment to support ongoing NHS care and school support, and we'll talk this through on your Early Assessment Call.
Can I still use the NHS or Right to Choose after seeing Bene Esse?+
Yes. Where appropriate, we support you to navigate your child/teenager's care back into the NHS or Community services, and we'll talk through this on your Early Assessment Call.
Do you only assess for ADHD and Autism?+
We look beyond just a diagnosis. Many of the concerns that lead to an ASD or ADHD referral have several contributing factors, and we'll help you understand the full picture — always putting the needs of the child first.
What areas do you cover?+
We work with families across Kent, London and the Home Counties.
Does the Early Assessment Call cost anything?+
No — it's free and confidential, with no obligation to book anything further.
